Learning by doing with support offers a direction for developing capabilities and pursuing greater autonomy.

How can you start learning and building a venture with support?

Name what you want to learn or get started, and share it with people already working on something related. At D365-IRL, we propose learning by doing and supporting one another as ordinary people with similar concerns and limitations. The aim is to develop capabilities that help us be productive and pursue greater freedom and autonomy.

A place to find help

The October 2 session brought me back to the purpose of D365-IRL. We want to build a place to find help for those of us seeking a greater ability to make decisions and act on our work and projects.

Learning, being productive and starting a venture are part of that pursuit. Each person brings different needs and possibilities. Support can help us identify a next step and work on it.

This community brings together ordinary people. We have concerns, doubts and limitations, as well as experiences that may be useful to someone else. That exchange is part of what we want to make possible.

Learning while we do the work

The proposal is to learn by doing, alongside people already putting into practice what we want to learn. Drawing on their experience lets us discuss the actual work and the difficulties that arise when we try it.

Asking for help also requires putting a need into words. It might concern an idea we want to start or a capability we want to develop. Sharing it provides a starting point for identifying who can support us and what we can try.

Support does not guarantee an outcome. The aim is to give learning a place in what we do and to share what we discover along the way.

Freedom and autonomy as a direction

Freedom and autonomy guide the project. Developing capabilities and learning to put them into practice can expand our possibilities for action. That is the purpose behind the invitation to be productive and pursue entrepreneurship.

The conversation also touched on the historical memory of October 2. This note focuses on the purpose of D365-IRL and the proposal to learn with support; the details of the newspaper reference require separate verification.

Joining the 2026 year-end sprint

The invitation I take from this session is to join the 2026 year-end sprint. We can begin by sharing what we want to learn or get started, and where we need support.

As an editorial exercise derived from this reflection, write one sentence describing the step you want to take. Then identify what you need to learn to try it and a specific question you could bring to the community. This exercise is a proposal for applying the idea, not an activity documented as having taken place during the session.

Questions from the note

What is D365-IRL working toward?

Being a place to find help for people pursuing greater freedom and autonomy through learning, productive work and entrepreneurship with support.

Who can contribute to that learning?

People already doing what we want to learn about who can share their experience. The proposal starts from meeting as ordinary people with similar concerns and limitations.

Does support ensure that a project will succeed?

No guarantee is proposed. The aim is to have support for learning and working on the next step, within each person's possibilities.

How can I join?

Share what you want to learn or get started during the 2026 year-end sprint and the kind of help you need. The public group is the proposed starting point.
