Next Year Starts With the Decisions You Make Today

Based on D365-IRL · Day 367 · Date not documented

Carlos Ocampo · Field Note #040

English translation of the original Spanish publication. Original dates, authorship and documentary images are preserved.

Preparing for next year requires deciding what to do with the information we receive today. A signal from the wider environment becomes useful when we can explain which assumption it changes and which decision deserves review.

The Day 367 summary connects reading the context, human judgment and the close of 2026. Here we develop that practical question without repeating political or statistical claims that require independent verification.

We propose a simple exercise: choose a relevant signal, identify the decision it might affect and specify what evidence is needed before changing course.

The response may be to act, investigate or maintain a decision. It may also mean preparing an alternative while observing how the situation develops.

HFE™ provides a cadence for revisiting those decisions. The team can review what it learned, what is no longer true and which commitment needs adjustment. That continuity allows the next period to be built from execution experience.

In the story these Field Notes document, preserving judgment means actively participating in this work of interpretation. Information needs context and someone willing to take responsibility for its use.

What decision can you prepare this week so that January finds a capability already in motion?
